Joe was born in Panama City, Florida in 1945. He completed his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University in 1968 . He joined Georgia Power Company and worked throughout the state in his 28 year career. In 1974 he met and married Vicki Bellville of Whittemore, Michigan. Joe and Vicki have three children: Teresa (Hemphill), Emily(soon to be Hoyle), and Jay (Joe Jr.). Joe was raised in a Christian home in which his parents showed devotion to God, to each other, and to their family. He came to a saving knowledge of Christ at the age of 9. After several years of wandering he returned to the household of faith. He has served as a Deacon in Columbus and Marietta, Georgia, before moving to North Carolina. Joe joined Carolina Power & Light in 1996 and the family moved to Cary in 1997. That same year Joe and Vicki joined Colonial. In succeeding years they have become involved in Walkers ABF and Joe has been active in Men's Ministries and the Prayer Ministry. |
